Explanation:

Since all user interfaces are supposed to use the new user interface process layer, answer (A) does not present a viable solution since the Smart Client never accesses the Web Server.

While both means of access do touch the Application server (B), this is where business logic code should reside, not presentation facing logic. Also neither of the applications presentation layer would access the process layer in the Application Server.
